Antifascist Black Metal Network Each band chooses to project their feelings using a different taste of black/doom, with Mokhir choosing melodic darkness with discreet neocrust influences while Mumuksu fittingly infuse their dirge with funeral doom garnish. A split not to be missed, shorturl.at/eoqvR

Dave Aftandilian There’s something about the deliberate pace and deep undercurrents of doom music that lends itself well to spiritual reflection. Here Mokhir and Mumuksu offer their complementary takes on the bumps and rewards one encounters on the road to enlightenment. Hope and disillusionment equally balanced as the seeker feels the searing pain of the death of the self that marks the only way forward, one learns there is no beginning, no end, only the journey.

I saw a black ego death fade I saw a black ego death I saw a black ego death fade O’Mother Of love and wonder Purge this pain O’Mother Of loving grace Show yourself No more black No more bigotry Set me free Burn the shame off this body Black I saw a black ego death O’Mother why won’t you come And save my misanthropic soul Forever content in your bosom of truth Your fears of tomorrow never end Succumb to the knife of reason I fight to the death I fight to the death Death The death of mass ignorance Fuck all this apathy False messiahs galore I’ll carve out your fucking eyes There's no light for the weak There's no light for the weak prey False messiahs reign It’s been such a long hard time But The demons they circle high I seem to remember this place Lost in the ocean of hate The body disintegrates I’ll rot into earthly grace, fuck it Into the earth I saw a black ego death

You seek more control You seek to control your fate You seek more control Enslaved by desire Enslaved by desire and hate I saw a Black Ego Death The machine seeks to control, confuse, conform It fucking rapes your spirit With visions of false happiness Surrendered this mind to the ether of space Shed these bags of skin, into the earth Into the Earth Forever entrenched by the tyranny of man I seek the truth of providence in the emptiness Providence is mine Over and over and over and over again It never ends Please take me home Please take me home Back to the source Home

about

'Broken Homes' is the first split release collaboration between Black metal/Doom experimental artists Mokhir (Germany) & Mumuksu (Malaysia). Consisting of 4 track movements, the album encompasses a journey that addresses external conflict (war, poverty, geopolitical oppression, hostile takeover of land) and internal conflict (emptiness, isolation, apathy, human disconnection). 'Broken Homes' serves as a medium of reflection and movement from nothingness to fulfilment - wherein the duality of nihilism & enlightenment are dissolved into the eternal womb of cosmic union.
